As per the female astronaut allegedly wearing a diaper to not have to take a rest stop, that actually may not be a half-bad idea for some.
Sports: Since it's been 99 yrs. and since there is a song "99 bottles of whatever", it seems logical that the Cubs could win it all this year. If not, then they'll have to start the song all over again.
Weather: Today will be muggy, followed by toogy, wiggy, thurgy, fryggy, saggy and suggy.
Thank you.

At this time I'd suggest that you get the latest updates from your AM radio or TV.
I am aware that Dewey did not win,on the national scene. Locally, hopes for a Middlefork Reservoir are all but lost in spite of Gov. Thompson's endorsement.. I can also tell you with certainty that the '69 Cubs didn't quite make it to the World Series. And for weather here in E. Cen. Illinois, it's OK, you get used to it. And now a few words from one of our sponsers: Dean's milk: "a few words"--

Latest sports: I'm going with Chicago in the Superbowl.
Also, I'll pick the Cubs to win the division in '69 and win the World Series.
Hmm. Guess you don't want me as your financial adviser.....

Hmmm. Just a little tumble in the stock market.....Oh well, it's only money. I think those affected should just go and live it up at The Original (or Imitation) House of Pancakes.

March has started off with the first 50 degree F. weather in many weeks. The largest piles of snow from a couple weeks ago are of course diminishing but there is still a lot of white out there. Sunshine instead of bright gray would have made this quite a spring-type, albeit muddy, day.

The lunar eclipse was cancelled in the Danville area due to the clouds. Still, there was a reddish look to the sky in the east. Light covering of snow in the area. Warm-up predicted soon, like by at least May.

Latest News: The exit door to the new Save a Lot located at 1403 N. Bowman is surprisingly narrow. It's no problem for this reporter, but it makes me wonder if it as safe in an emergency....?....
Sports: How 'bout them Cubbies?
Weather: It's late April, so after 80-something a few days ago, there is a 35 predicted for a low in the next few days. Better not dress for the beach quite yet.
Thanks for watching and please be here again next time for the latest news, sports and weather, which may be posted tomorrow, next year or on my 100th birtday in 2049. (That's when my kids will be my age now and I'd like to live to be able to laugh at them for all they didn't know about being around 60.) (Ha ha, kids!!)

In the news at this hour, one of the thousands of posters on edanville, username "Oliver", reports he has seen the message on the homepage about "being sure to check out the new chat room". Oliver cannot find it. He has certain mental quirks about wondering if something is there that's supposedly there. If you have any info on the matter, please contact Oliver with it. I could care less,,,,well, depending.
Sports: How 'bout them Cubbies?
Weather: It is sunny with a slight breeze and is about 82 d. F. in Danville IL. In about 4 months, it will be gray, very windy and about 28 d. F. in Danville IL. Stay tuned for the next report, probably in about 4 months,,,, maybe,,,, don't hold me to it. If I don't post, don't get all upset and rude, etc. like some posters do. Just deal with the hard reality, and move on, get past it. Don't raise that blood pressure, well, unless it's floating around 60/40. If so, you may be an elephant who shouldn't even be on a forum because you can't manipulate a mouse, and anyway, you've got a bad thing about mice, anyway, OR you are a very lethargic-feeling human bean.
Stay tuned for the "Alan Brady" show. He's getting his hair on right now.

Now, Tuck, you know I didn't take it!! I don't even know what it is that's missing. Anyway, I figured there wouldn't be an awful lot of posters to chat with on edanville, just a rough guess.
But in case you see this, (and hopefully not a million other people since this is a "duh" question) a chat room would be essentially like the "shout box" on Granny 7's forum? Where any number could post short sentences? Or is it only 2? Is what you post saved somewhere? Do any of the local forums have an active chat room?
Well, as usual, I've asked too many questions. If nothing else I could get one of the kids to answer for a treat.....
Weather: Ideal mid-July weather for East Central IL-at least for me: days not overly humid and oppresive and nights where covers are actually appreciated.
Ollie Oliver reporting. Stay tuned for the next episode of "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" where Tom decides to spend the rest of his life standing on his head, Mary staunchy "stands by her man" while being serenaded by Dennis and Granpa finally finds the peanut butter and enjoys the mold on top.

COMMENTARY on NEWS: As for the decision to close the new Danville "Starbucks", I'd say it was a poor one and at least not one that gave it a decent chance.
Of course I don't know the stats or conditions, but literally everyday I have had occasion to turn into Lake Shores once or twice and always saw what I assume were customer's cars there or at the drive-up. And when did it finally open, just in the spring??
At least someone made some money building the place. And some got employment, for a time, anyway. As for me, no, not only do I not drink coffee, but I do not frequent any buy-out food places. All I eat comes from Aldi or Save a Lot. That's what you do when you really have to watch your resources. The silver lining is that you can choose only healthy foods and be the better for it. Honestly now, Starbucks doesn't do your body any particular good, though that's better than the grease, fat, etc. that all the meat, chicken and fish places do for a body, especially if one lives off that stuff. Yep.Tastes great-not great for your anatomy.
COMMENTARY on SPORTS: Don't really follow sports, other than the Cubs. Their annual predictable slump hopefully will come now, to shatter the illusion of invincibility, THEN turn it around late in the season and keep the upward momentum going. Of course, health-issues can and will make or break any team sports. I could be turned totally off any and all professional sports if it were made aware what every basket amounted to, or every pitched ball...The former Illini, hey, a nice guy and all that, but $50 million dollars? Only in America, for better of for worse. While some have more $$ than they probably know what to do with, some live the hardest life of survival that should make us all proud of human strength.
If only this country would reward the minds that invent ways to cure our ills at least on level with those who swing a mean bat or shoot a long basket,,,,think of how much better and happier mankind in general would be.....
COMMENTARY On WEATHER: The saving grace for E.Cen. IL typical 90 deg. F muggy weather is the evenings and overnight temps. in the 70s or even 60s. I pull in that cooler air by exhausting out the hot air overnight. Then close up this old house with the plaster walls and ceilings, pull the heavy drapes, and hold it in as nature will allow for the day. It is only when the nights remain oppresive that the noteworthy discomfort sets in. And of course, my plan is contingent on using electricity for fans, which can be costly if one doesn't watch it. The main "cooler" is a Patton fan, with a low speed of 140 watts, a medium at 168 watts and high at about 200 watts. The medium gives the most "bang for the buck" but cheap me uses the lowest mostly at night. Daytime: just a little fan nearby does the trick.
So, I'm affluent. I get to use a fan. For me, the idea of no fan, or no electricity for that matter, would seem a hardship. Yet, people are in that situation, as you know.
I think I should get some idea of what that would be like. It might be no worse than tent camping. Some people do that for fun a lot. History has shown that people can survive and even thrive where others wouldn't dream that it'd be possible.
It's all remarkable to me that is all works as well as it does for us 300 MILLION Americans! Ol Oliver signing and saying "Better luck, next time!"
